How it works

Your journey, step by step.

Five clear stages, one coordinator, and no guesswork, so the only thing you have to focus on is getting better.

01

Share reports, get an opinion

Upload your scans, labs, and history online. A relevant specialist reviews them and replies, usually within 48 hours, with a clear written opinion.

02

Treatment plan & cost estimate

You receive a proposed plan, the consultants involved, an expected length of stay, and a transparent, itemised cost estimate before you commit to anything.

03

Visa & travel assistance

We issue the medical visa invitation letter and help you with flights, timing, and any documentation your embassy requires for treatment abroad.

04

Arrival, transfers & treatment

We meet you at Kigali International Airport, settle you into accommodation, and your coordinator stays beside you through every appointment and procedure.

05

Follow-up after you return

Discharge summaries, prescriptions, and a structured follow-up plan travel home with you, with teleconsults so your Manipal team stays reachable.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked.

The things patients ask us most before they travel. Anything else, your coordinator is one message away.

Do I need a visa, and can you help me get one?

Most international patients travel to Rwanda on a medical visa, and several nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival. Once your treatment plan is agreed, we issue an official visa invitation letter for you and one accompanying attendant, and guide you through anything else your embassy requires.

What languages are spoken at Manipal?

Our international team works in English, French, and Kiswahili as standard, and we arrange interpreters for other languages on request. Your dedicated coordinator makes sure nothing is lost in translation, from consultation to discharge.

How does payment work?

You receive a written, itemised estimate before you travel, so there are no surprises. We accept bank transfer, major cards, and direct billing arrangements with select insurers and embassies. Packaged pricing covers many common procedures end to end.

How long should I plan to stay?

It depends on the treatment, your estimate always includes an expected length of stay and recovery time before you can fly. A routine diagnostic visit may take a few days, while major surgery and rehabilitation can span two to four weeks.

Can a family member travel with me?

Yes. We prepare the visa letter for an accompanying attendant and help arrange accommodation close to the hospital. Family members are welcome to be present throughout consultations and recovery wherever clinically appropriate.

Can I be assessed before I travel?

Absolutely, and we recommend it. Share your reports online and a relevant specialist will provide a written opinion, followed by a teleconsultation so you arrive already knowing your team, your plan, and your schedule.
